Derbyshire Community Bank returns for a second successful Money Matters event, continuing to support and guide the Derby community.
We’re proud to continue our journey with Reach Community Grocery, building on the success of our first visit with a second Money Matters event on 22 April 2026. Following such a positive response from our initial session, we were delighted to be invited back. It was clear that the first visit made a real impact, and we were excited to continue those important conversations.
What stood out most during our second visit was the level of engagement from attendees. Many individuals returned with questions and feedback from the previous session, showing a genuine interest in improving their financial wellbeing.
We made sure to come back prepared, providing clear answers and tailored guidance to support each person’s situation. It’s this kind of ongoing dialogue that helps build confidence and trust when it comes to managing money.
We’d also like to recognise the fantastic support from the Co-op team, who ensured the right materials were available based on feedback from the first session. This collaboration meant attendees received relevant, practical information, helping them leave the session feeling more informed and reassured.
During the session, we had a wide range of meaningful conversations covering topics such as

We’d like to highlight the incredible work being done by Reach Community Grocery for the Derby community.
It’s a welcoming and supportive environment where people can access affordable, everyday food items at reduced prices, alongside a unique grocery model that promotes dignity and choice. There is also a donations area offering clothes, books, accessories, and toys for families.
By hosting events like Money Matters, they are creating valuable opportunities for people to access not only essential items, but also support, and connection.
What stood out most to us was how closely aligned our missions are. At Derbyshire Community Bank, we focus on ethical savings, affordable loans, finanancail guidance, while Reach Community Grocery provides vital day to day support for those who need it most.
Their services go far beyond food provision. Members can also access a range of free courses throughout the year, helping to build confidence, skills, and overall wellbeing, including
We look forward to continuing this journey and building even stronger relationships through future sessions.
