Like many families, some of the money was needed for everyday essentials. One of the things Caroline borrowed money for was school uniform for her children.
With the new school year upon us, the cost of school uniform is something many parents and carers will be thinking about right now. For families already under financial pressure, these essential costs can make a difficult situation even harder.
What Caroline didn’t realise was that the borrowing would eventually trap her in a cycle that became almost impossible to escape.
Although she had originally borrowed around £3,000, Caroline ended up paying back more than £50,000.
She worked three jobs to keep up with the repayments while still trying to provide for her family.
Eventually, Caroline reached a point where she knew she couldn’t continue and contacted Stop Loan Sharks for help.
