On Wednesday 23 September, Derbyshire Community Bank was back at Reach Community Grocery for our second Money Matters session, continuing the conversations around budgeting, saving and managing money.
Following our first session the week before, it was great to return and spend more time talking with people about their finances in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
One of the things we enjoy most about the Money Matters course is the opportunity to have open, everyday conversations about money.
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to managing your finances. Everyone has different circumstances, priorities and experiences, which is why being able to talk, ask questions and share ideas can be so valuable.
Throughout the session, we discussed topics including budgeting, building savings and developing positive money habits.
It’s not about having all the answers. Sometimes, simply having the opportunity to talk about money can help people feel more confident about the decisions they make.
As a local credit union, financial education and wellbeing are an important part of what we do at Derbyshire Community Bank.
Sessions like Money Matters give us the opportunity to get out into the community, meet people face-to-face and help make conversations about money feel more approachable.
