Charity and Community Organisations

We do get asked about accounts for community organisations, charities, clubs and other unincorporated associations.

The good news is that we can offer a Corporate Saver, and we are very grateful to our partner organisations who have savings with us; this enables us to support many more people in our community with savings, loans and helping them manage their money well.

The bad news is that this is not a transactional bank account; we are unable to pay bills, receive donations, subscriptions, there is no debit card and for the moment there is no internet banking access for this type of account.

We are aware that community organisations and other unincorporated associations can find it difficult to open an account with a high street bank. Banks (including DCBank) must comply with customer due diligence requirements, which can sometimes be challenging with this type of customer.  We’ve listed below the banks that we are aware of that offer an account for charities and community organisations. Some offer free banking, but some do charge an account fee. Note this list is not complete and banking providers may change or withdraw their products at any time. But we will do our best to keep this list up to date.
